WAVOC & ICC: The Great Eastern Japan Earthquake Volunteer Meeting

• Date: June 16th, June 28th, July 13th (time listed below)
• Venue: Hirayama Ikuo Volunteer Center (WAVOC); Building No. 201-39, 2F
• Eligible Participants: Waseda students, faculty and staff; general public
  Welcoming anyone who wishes to give a presentation about their experience volunteering for the earthquake!
• Advance Registration: Required (details given below)
• Admission: Free
• Language: Japanese, English (depending on situation and needs of participants)

We will hold periodic networking meetings for student involved in volunteer activities which support the disaster area through a variety of forms, as well as for students who are seriously interested in becoming involved in such activities. The meetings allow participants to share experiences and information through mutual exchange.

At the meetings, we will share the actual experiences of students who volunteered onsite, who have spoken directly with disaster victims, or who have planned support events in Tokyo. At the same time, participants will think together regarding what students can do to help in the future.

Date and Time:

June 16th (Thurs.): 4th Period (14:45-16:15)

June 28th (Tues.): 3rd Period (13:00-14:30)

July 13th (Wed.): 5th Period (16:30-18:00)

Program:

(1) Overall report (presentation) on earthquake volunteer activities given by presenters with actual volunteer experience.

(2) Free discussion at each table

Registration for Participation:

Participants who wish to give an overall presentation on their experience as an earthquake volunteer should register via the Waseda-net Portal.

Deadline:

5 days prior to each meeting date. A confirmation email will be sent.

Non-presenters should come directly to the venue. (The venue can accommodate approximately 40 people.)
