Waseda University called upon our university's researchers to submit research proposals that will contribute to reconstruction of areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and will minimize potential damage which may be caused by similar future disasters. After the screening, seven research themes were selected for three research projects in the fields of "Medicine and Health Care", "Infrastructure Restoration and Disaster Management Systems", and "Urban Planning and Social Design". The Center for Research on Reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake consists of these projects. Activities of the research center are supported by the Waseda Supporters Club and will also receive a maximum of 20 million yen in annual funding from our university for a period of 3 years.
