The Special Prize of Information Security Culture Award was presented to Shigeo Tsujii, Professor at the Center for Research and Development Initiatives (Research and Development Unit of the Public Key System for Confidential Communication between Organizations) and Norihisa Doi, former Professor of the same Center. This award is presented by the Institute of Information Security to recognize individuals that have made outstanding contributions in related fields. This is the 10th year that the award has been presented. Starting from this year, a Special Prize division was established and two prizes were given. According to the institute, the prize was given “in recognition of the winner’s pioneering role in the realization of a healthy information society and their outstanding contributions to the cultivation of information security culture achieved by laying the foundation for the growth of information security in Japan and providing broad influence/leadership which reaches all aspects of industry, academia, government and the public sector.”
