Universiade: Iizuka takes Silver, Kimura places fifth

On the final day of track and field, at the 27th Universiade held in Kazan, Russia beginning July 6, Shota Iizuka (4th year Faculty of Law) won silver medal in men’s 4 x 100R, and Jun Kimura (4th year Faculty of Law) came in fifth place in men’s 4 x 400R.


Men’s 4 x 100m R

First round: Third place 39.85 sec
Third runner- Jun Kimura/ Anchor- Shota Iizuka

Finals: Second Place (Silver Medal) 39.12 sec
Anchor- Shota Iizuka
*Kimura ran the men’s 4 x 400mR held on the same day


Men’s 4 x 400mR

Finals: Fifth place 3 min 6.58 sec
First runner- Jun Kimura

At the individual races, Iizuka also won the bronze medal, and Kimura proceeded to the semi-finals.

Iizuka also plans to run in the 200m and 4 x 100mR at the Track and Field World Championships held in Moscow from August 10.
