First-ever! 3 Championships in a Row

The Automobile Club won the team competition at the All-Japan Student Automobile Driving Championships held at the Nippon Express Suginami Driving School on November 18 (Sunday).

At these championships, competitors were arranged into teams of four for each university with each of the members competing in one of four categories: Small Passenger Class A and B and Small Cargo Class A and B. The performance of the team was determined by the total of their individual results.

From Chuo University, Shunyo Mori (4th year student in the Faculty of Economics) competed in Small Passenger Class A, Shohei Atsuhata (4th year student in the Faculty of Economics) competed in Small Passenger Class B, Keisuke Mitsumoto (4th year student in the Faculty of Law) competed in Small Cargo Class A and Suguru Daikohara (3rd year student in the Faculty of Law) competed in Small Cargo Class B.

All the competitors were placed with Shunyo Mori taking first place, Keisuke Mitsumoto and Suguru Daikohara taking second place, and Shohei Atsuhata taking third place. This meant the team was able to win overall.

In addition, Hikari Hosono (4th year student in the Faculty of Law) had a good result, taking second place in the Women's Small Passenger Class.

As a result of this victory together with existing wins at the All-Japan Student Dirt Trial Championships and All-Japan Student Gymkhana Championships, the Automobile Club won the All-Japan Student Championships triple crown and so was crowned champions in the All-Japan Overall Cup. This impressive feat of achieving victories in all three championships is the first time this has occurred since the founding of the All-Japan Student Automobile Association. In the Individual Class of the All-Japan Overall Cup, Shohei Atsuhata (4th Year, Faculty of Economics) also won while Shunyo Mori (4th year student in the Faculty of Economics) took third place.

The Automobile Club has been a big success this year. We also expect big things from them next year as well. We would like to thank you for your continued support of the Automobile Club.
