Graduate wins the 60th All Japan Kendo Championship

The 60th All Japan Kendo Championship was held on November 3rd (Sat.) at the Nippon Budokan to decide the Japanese kendo champion. Eight former members of our kendo team participated (the most of all universities), and Daiki Kiwada (2001 Faculty of Law graduate, Osaka Prefectural Police) won the championship. This was the first time for a Chuo graduate to capture the title.

For Kiwada, who has a sparkling record including championship victories in the team competition at the world championships, and team and individual competitions at the All Japan Police Championship, this was the first time for him to climb the summit of the All Japan Kendo Championship in his third attempt.
