Professor Hiroshi Shirai (Faculty of Science and Engineering; Department of Electrical, Electronic and Communication Engineering) received the Engineering Sciences Society Distinguished Service Award from The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers. The award was presented at The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers Society Conference.

The award recognizes great contributions to the society. Professor Shirai was presented with the award to recognize his contributions to smooth publishing of Fundamentals Review, a society magazine of the institute.
