London 2012

From 6:30pm on September 10 (Monday), the Kenta Chida's Silver Medal Celebration was held by graduates, people associated with the university and fencing club seniors and current members, at the Surugadai Memorial Hall 1st floor restaurant Prior. Other than Chida (2009 graduate), coach Koji Emura (1983 graduate) and manager Naoto Okazaki (1992 graduate) were also invited to the celebration, which about 70 people attended to pay tribute to the silver medal (in fencing, men's team foil) Chida won at this summer's London Olympic Games, and provided a lively atmosphere.

In his address, Chida showed gratitude and determination in saying, "I was able to win the silver medal because I entered Chuo University. As well as offering my deepest thanks to the many people who have supported me, I would like to continue my challenge in the future enthusiastically."
