Third year student in the Faculty of Policy Studies and member of the Swimming Team of the Physical Education League, Chuo University Association of Student Clubs, Chiaki Ishibashi finished fourth in the men's 200 meters freestyle held at the 88^th Japan Swimming Championships (April 2^nd - 8^th ), which were also a qualifier for the 30^th Olympic Games in London. As a result, Ishibashi was selected to represent Japan in the men's 800 meters freestyle relay.
