We are pleased to announce that Professor Dr. Tamejiro Hiyama of Research and Development Initiative, Chuo University, has been elected the recipient of the Humboldt Research Award.

Professor Dr. Hiyama has studied invention of methods for organic synthesis for many years. His achievements are highlighted by the silicon-based cross-coupling or the Hiyama Coupling (1988) and the chromium-based carbon-carbon bond formation, called Nozaki-Hiyama-Kishi (NHK) Reaction (1976) and many other synthetic reactions.
