First Year Student Wins the Men's 1500 Meter Freestyle

The F辿d辿ration Internationale de Natation (FINA) 2011 Swimming World Cup in Tokyo was held on November 12th and 13th at the Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center. Yohei Takiguchi (1st year student in the Faculty of Law) posted an outstanding time of 14:42:22 en route to his victory in the men's 1500 meter freestyle.

Takiguchi also finished third in the men's 400 meter freestyle. Additionally, Shinri Shioura (2nd year student in the Faculty of Law) placed 4th in the men's 50 meter freestyle and 8th in the men's 100 meter freestyle.

The Swimming World Cup is the final international swimming competition before next year's London Olympics, and serves as a prelude to the Olympics.

Members of the Chuo University Swimming Team are working as hard as they can as they aim for the 2012 London Olympics.
