Takuya Nakabayashi (Haga Laboratory) was awarded the IUPAC Poster Prize at the 14th IUPAC International Symposium on MacroMolecular Complexes (MMC-14), held in Helsinki (Finland) from August 14th to 17th by the IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry). Nakabayashi is a 2nd year student majoring in applied chemistry in the Master's Program at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering.

Electrochemical Properties in Multilayer Films of Ru/Os Dinuclear Complexes Having a Strong Metal-metal Interaction on a Surface

The presentation examined units which possesses strong intermetallic interaction within complex molecules. Results were presented for a review of the electrochemical response during layering of units due to weak interaction. The award recognized how the research was able to control the distance of the layering interval and achieve regular alternate control of the interaction between layers. This control was made possible by constructing a coordinated bond in the layer film structure.
