The UN Academic Impact (AI) is an international program which connects the United Nations and institutions of higher education. Chuo University is also participating in the Academic Impact program, mainly through the Chuo University International Water Environment Science and Engineering Personnel Training Program. Through cooperation with domestic and international universities and institutions, the Chuo Water Environment program will develop and implement a unique educational curriculum that targets graduate students, including international students. Students will conduct thorough study of the customs and benefits of industry and government in Japan, and the program aims to cultivate marine environmental engineers and water treatment engineers who are high-level experts possessing an international perspective that values the history, culture and customs of all countries. Through this program, our university supports sustainable development in marine environments throughout East Asia and the world, and cultivates international professionals who are capable of proposing and implementing comprehensive and fundamental measures for improvement in this field.
