Merger of Chuo University and Yokohama Yamate Joshi Gakuen

Chuo University and Yokohama Yamate Joshi Gakuen completed a corporate merger on October 1st of 2010. The merger resulted in the creation of Chuo University Yokohama Yamate Junior & Senior High School (name changed this April from Yokohama Yamate Joshi Gakuen Junior & Senior High School), an affiliated school under the jurisdiction of Chuo University.

Our university will inherit the 102 years of tradition possessed by Yokohama Yamate Joshi Gakuen and will work to improve the educational ability and quality standards of the school. We envision that students who receive education at the school will form the core of Chuo University.

By adding Chuo University Yokohama Yamate Junior & Senior High School to Chuo University High School, Chuo University Suginami High School, and Chuo University Junior (established this April) & Senior High School, our university seeks further expansion as a comprehensive academic institution offering integrated education through junior high school, high school and university.
