Mr. Shinya Masuno (1st year student in the Master's Program of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering; major in applied chemistry; Haga Laboratory) received the Outstanding Poster Award at an international academic conference held in a suburb of Krakow, Poland. The conference was attended by researchers and graduate students interested in surface modification. Attendees gathered from 20 countries throughout the world, with a focus on European countries. At the conference, presentations and debate was conducted in an overnight camp format, with participants staying onsite. Mr. Masuno gave a presentation on research regarding photochemical oxidation reactions using dinuclear ruthenium complexes that are fixed to surfaces. High evaluation was given to both the research contents and the research debate which was conducted in front of the related poster.
