Nakano International Community Plaza opens
Will cultivate global professionals and lifelong learning

The Waseda University Nakano International Community Plaza was completed on March 6, marking the end of construction which began in March 2012.

The building has 11 floors above ground and one underground. Lifelong learning facilities occupy the first floor, where the Waseda University Extension Center will operate the Nakano School for “Open College" lectures. By utilizing Waseda's education and research resources, the facilities will provide lifelong learning open to the local community.

The second to 11th floors comprise the Waseda International Student House, which can house 872 students. WISH is a communal living environment for Japanese and international students, to foster mutual understanding and global awareness. New students have already moved into their rooms

On March 6, a ceremony and celebration to commemorate the completion were held with attendance from Waseda University officials, representatives of architecture/construction companies and Nakano Ward community members.

At the celebration, President Kamata presents a certificate of gratitude to construction officials.
