Waseda International Culture Center opened in Thailand's Si Racha

A new base for Japanese language education and international exchange

The exterior is modern and simple with Japan kept in mind and a touch of traditional Thai building style

Waseda Education (Thailand), founded by Thai business group Saha Group and Waseda University, have opened a new Japanese language education and international exchange base, "Waseda Culture Center" (photo), in Si Racha, the main city in Thailand's eastern coastal industrial zone.

An opening ceremony was held on October 20 with speeches by Saha Group President Boonyasit Chokewattana and Waseda President Shirai, an unveiling ceremony, and a presentation ceremony for the student writing contest "What Japan Means to Me". Members of the general public were also present, and could thoroughly enjoy the new base of knowledge with activities such as a tour of the facility and mock Japanese lessons.

Exchange activities for Japanese and Thai students are planned for the future through the Japanese language program at the Japanese language school in the Waseda International Culture Center and Japanese language and culture camps using the accommodation facilities.
