Cultivating friendship with high schools students in the Asia-Pacific Region

Active international exchange by the Waseda University Senior High School

Exchange symposium held in Seoul

16 students from the Waseda University Senior High School participated in the 2010 East Asia Symposium on the Environment which was held at the Hana Academy Seoul (high school) in Seoul, Korea from August 16th to 19th. At the symposium, Waseda students debated with Chinese and Korean high school students regarding themes such as environmental problems. After the symposium, friendships were deepened through interactive parties and homestays.

Also, from September 13th to 18th, Waseda University Senior High School was visited by 14 students from the famous Xavier College in Melbourne, Australia. The visiting students participated in homestays and classes at the high school. In addition to experiencing traditional Japanese culture through classes in calligraphy and music, students displayed performances to each other at an interactive party held by students themselves. The wonderful smiles of all participants were captured in a commemorative photograph.

Waseda University Senior High was also visited in May by approximately 65 students from Taiwan's Taipei Municipal Chien-Kuo Senior High School.
