Purifying polluted drainage with low cost and high efficiency technology

Development of “Catenaccio aqua” at the Research Institute for Sustainable and Environmental Technology

The Waseda University Research Institute for Sustainable and Environmental Technology (Director: Professor Masahiko Matsukata, Faculty of Science and Engineering) and AZMEC Inc (President: Takenori Masada) developed “Catenaccio aqua,” a flocculation and settlement agent that can economically purify polluted drainage.

The “Catenaccio aqua” has adapted the technology of “Catenaccio,” which was developed by the same center as an insoluble treatment agent of polluted soil. The “Catenaccio aqua” is a flocculation and settlement agent that can treat drainage water containing harmful elements such as fluorin, boron, selenium, etc with low cost and high efficiency. In July 2010, the Ministry of the Environment is planning to revise the interim drainage standard. The “Catenaccio aqua” is an innovative technology that will greatly contribute to solving environmental issues.
