Acclaim for the merit of superb works of art

Professor Ken Yabuno receives the 2008 Japan Art Academy Award

The award-winning work "One Day on a Hill in Assasi"

The 2008 Japan Art Academy Award, which is presented to individuals with remarkable achievements in artistic fields, was announced on March 25. Professor Ken Yabuno of the Art and Architecture school was presented with an award in the arts division.

Professor Yabuno received the award for his work "One Day on a Hill in Assisi", which was displayed in the 62nd Niki Exhibition held last year. This is the second consecutive year that a faculty member of Waseda University has received the award, continuing from Professor Ryoji Suzuki, who received the award last year. The award ceremony will be held on June 15th at the Japan Art Academy Hall in Ueno, Tokyo.
