This year marks the 100th anniversary of the undergraduate school

School of Science and Engineering holds the 21st Unilab

The 21st Unilab was held for two days, from the 5th to the 6th of August, in order to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the School of Science and Engineering.

At the “Discussion of Advanced Research”, in addition to presentations given by Professors of Waseda University, lectures regarding the human space facility “Kibo” and the universe were given by guest lecturers from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. Furthermore, lectures regarding the deep sea were given by guest lecturers from the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC).

At the “Experiment Classroom”, elementary and junior high school students participated in experiments for 23 different items. Also, in the “Experiment Tour”, the students explored the science and engineering campus, getting a first-hand look at large experimental equipment and special experimental equipment.

The guest lecture given by the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), entitled "What Kind of Place is the Deep Sea?".
