WAVOC Starts a New Eastern Japan Reconstruction Volunteer Plan:
Lecture Held by Mr. Yasuchika Hasegawa

The Waseda University Hirayama Ikuo Volunteer Center (WAVOC) has made the decision to implement a new volunteer plan with activities and informal talks in pre-lectures and at local sites unified as a part of the Great East Japan Earthquake Reconstruction Support Project. The plan is that not only will students actually engage in volunteer work, but will also deepen their own studies by coming into contact with the message of people active as key personnel in the reconstruction of Japan in the fields of business and politics and by the valuable opportunity of speaking to such individuals.

As the first step for this, Mr. Yasuchika Hasegawa (Chairman of the Association of Corporate Executives and President of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited) gave a lecture and talk with students on the theme of "The Efforts toward Earthquake Reconstruction by the Association of Corporate Executives and Expectations for Young People Looking at the Rebirth of Japan" on June 21. As the second step, there is a plan for volunteer activities in Kesennuma City from June 29, as well as an informal gathering with Goshi Hosono, Minister of the Environment.
