Eiheiji Temple : Overnight stay program
Eiheiji Temple is a Soto Zen training monastery established in 1244 by Dogen Zenji, the founder of Soto Zen Buddhism in Japan. You can stay at Eiheiji and experience zazen, monastic meals and the morning service through the one-night stay “Sanro” program. All visitors are expected to follow the schedule and rules of the temple. This temple was listed with two stars in the famous French travel guidebook “Michelin Green Guide Japan” in 2015.

Echizen Washi Village is a small village with a main street approximately 230 meters long, connecting the Paper & Culture Museum, the Udatsu Paper & Craft Museum, and Papyrus House. The three facilities all operate under the theme of “Washi paper.” Visitors are able to learn about Washi paper, see how the paper is made by craftsmen, and even experience making their own paper.
